The water-resistant honeycomb activated carbon produced by Hebei Feixiang Environmental Protection Equipment Co., Ltd. is still ordinary honeycomb activated carbon. The raw materials used are the same, both using high iodine value activated carbon powder. In the production process, the initial processing technology is the same, but the difference is the drying in the later stage.
Both water-resistant honeycomb activated carbon and ordinary honeycomb activated carbon undergo a drying process after production. There are generally two drying methods: natural air drying and high-temperature drying in a kiln. Ordinary honeycomb activated carbon only needs to undergo natural air drying to complete the drying process, while water-resistant honeycomb activated carbon needs to be calcined in a high-temperature kiln for more than 10 hours after natural air drying to complete the drying process. This kiln also needs to continuously supply gas to produce an open flame of 8-900 degrees Celsius. Only after this high-temperature calcination can the water-resistant honeycomb activated carbon have water resistance and high adsorption effects.
Storage life of activated carbon
The storage life of activated carbon is generally 3-5 years, which depends on the storage environment, temperature, humidity, and product quality. Under the premise of good product quality, the storage environment should be kept dry and ventilated, and should not be humid. In addition, honeycomb activated carbon is a type of carbon that will burn if it is carbon. Therefore, honeycomb activated carbon cannot be stacked together with flammable materials such as gasoline and diesel.
This is the storage life of honeycomb activated carbon, which is only a part of its service life.
Furthermore, the service life of honeycomb activated carbon is truly remarkable. The service life of honeycomb activated carbon is not measured by time, but by the amount of adsorbed substances. Even if it is new and unused honeycomb activated carbon, if it adsorbs and filters a lot of things, it can be saturated in a short or even shorter time, which means that its service life is over and it needs to be replaced. Even in a very clean situation, the service life of honeycomb activated carbon should not exceed one year. Saturated honeycomb activated carbon is better not to handle it by itself due to the absorption of harmful chemicals. It is better to replace it with a new one, otherwise it is no different from not filtering.
